Piante rare Il Pancratium Martimum noto come Giglio di Mare è un’ erba perenne bulbosa appartenente alla famiglia delle Amaryllidaceae,si presenta con un fusto di 25-50 cm. e foglie lunghe 30-50 cm. larghe 1-2 cm. avvolte a spirale,presenti solo alla base. Questa bulbosa contiene una potente tossina, tezzetta, con proprietà allucinogene e cardiotossiche. E’ specie protetta dell’area mediterranea, delle coste atlantiche più occidentali, di quelle africane più settentrionali delle Azzorre. La fioritura avviene tra luglio e settembre; sul nostro promontorio si può ammirare sulle spiagge di Grotticelle e di Riaci. La Woodwardia Radicans invece, ha trovato il suo abitat naturale nella valle del Torrente Ruffa (loc.Torre Ruffa). E’ una felce tropicale molto rara appartenente alla famiglia delle Blechnaceae.
INGLESE. The Pancratium Martimum, also known as the Sea Lily, is a perennial bulbous herb belonging to the Amaryllidaceae family. This plant has a stem height of 25-50 cm and long, spiral-shaped leaves measuring 30-50 cm in length and 1-2 cm in width, which are present only at the base. The Sea Lily contains a potent toxin called tezzetta, which possesses hallucinogenic and cardiotoxic properties. This species is protected in the Mediterranean area, along the western Atlantic coasts, and in the northernmost African regions, including the Azores. Flowering occurs between July and September. On our promontory, you can admire it on the beaches of Grotticelle and Riaci. On the other hand, the Woodwardia Radicans has found its natural habitat in the valley of Torrente Ruffa (locally known as Torre Ruffa). It is a very rare tropical fern belonging to the Blechnaceae family .

Le Pancratium Martimum connu sous le nom de Lys de Mer est une plante herbacée vivace bulbeuse appartenant à la famille des Amaryllidacées, elle a une tige de 25 à 50 cm. et feuilles de 30 à 50 cm de long. 1 à 2 cm de large. enroulé en spirale, présent uniquement à la base. Cette ampoule contient une puissante toxine, la tezzetta, aux propriétés hallucinogènes et cardiotoxiques. C'est une espèce protégée dans la zone méditerranéenne, sur les côtes atlantiques les plus occidentales et sur les côtes africaines les plus septentrionales des Açores. La floraison a lieu entre juillet et septembre ; sur notre promontoire vous pourrez admirer les plages de Grotticelle et de Riaci. Le Woodwardia Radicans, quant à lui, a trouvé son habitat naturel dans la vallée de Ruffa Torrent (localité de Torre Ruffa). C'est une fougère tropicale très rare appartenant à la famille des Blechnacées.
